Spa & wellness — beyond the hotel pool

The Park Hyatt has its own pool — but a mega-spa is a different league: Shenzhen's vast 24-hour bathhouses (洗浴中心) with hot-spring pools, a dozen kinds of sauna, restaurants, recliner lounges and entertainment floors — or a hot-spring resort for an open-air soak. Perfect for peak-heat afternoons and post-walking recovery, all a short DiDi from Futian CBD. Tap a pin or card.

First-timer's playbook

🧖 How a Chinese mega-spa works

  • Bring your passport for entry. You're handed a wristband + locker; everything (food, massages, drinks) charges to it and you pay once on the way out.
  • Bathing areas are gender-segregated and nude — shower thoroughly first, then soak. They provide towels, robe/yukata, toiletries, even hair-dryers. Bring nothing.
  • For mixed-gender hot-spring pools or resorts, you wear a swimsuit — pack/buy one.
  • Tattoos are fine in China (unlike Japanese onsen).
  • Massages & treatments cost extra on top of the entry fee — agree the price first.
  • You can stay overnight in the recliner lounges — locals use these as a cheap hotel. Great if a flight or late night runs long.
  • Pay/queue via Dianping for deals; Alipay/WeChat everywhere. Solo is totally normal.

⬚ Where it fits your week

  • Day 6 PM (Tue 11 · architecture day): after the long Guangming trip + peak heat, this is the ideal recovery slot — hotel pool, or upgrade to TENZ (near Futian Port).
  • Day 4 (Sun 9 · Dongmen evening): Queen Spa (Xiangxicun, Luohu) is a short DiDi from Dongmen — soak after the old-market wander.
  • Any rest/typhoon day: a half-day at a mega-spa is fully indoor and heat/rain-proof.
  • Hot-spring resort (Silver Lake) suits a slower morning if you want an open-air, scenic soak over a city bathhouse.
