Where to eat — solo, top quality

Evenings are for food — modern + traditional Chinese, top quality, solo-friendly. Organised by distance from your hotel (Park Hyatt Shenzhen, Futian CBD — COCO Park a ~10-min walk). Browse/queue/reserve on Dianping (大众点评), pay Alipay/WeChat, point-and-order with the translate camera. Solo dining is completely normal here.

Solo-dining playbook

⬚ Practical tips + how it folds into the week

  • Peak ≈ 18:30–20:00 → popular spots queue. Use Dianping to pull a remote queue number, or eat slightly early/late.
  • Hotpot solo is standard: single burners, half-portions. Haidilao is the friendliest — solo diners get a plush-toy companion.
  • Reservations only really needed for the fine-dining rooms — ask the Park Hyatt concierge to book a day or two ahead.
  • Payment: Alipay/WeChat everywhere; the bill QR is on the table. Tipping is not expected.
  • Most nights: walk to COCO Park (~10 min) — your default; DiDi to the Shuiwei / Xiasha villages for the local mood. Day 4 (Sun 9, Luohu): Leyuan Road seafood. Day 9 (Fri 14, farewell): book Avant or The Bay by Chef Fei — reserve early in the trip.
